Texas Ballot Proposed Constitutional Amendment information
provided by Penny Ball, SW Dallas Branch:

Here are links to files that explain the proposals to be on the Texas ballot  Note that Proposals 2 and 3 at first reading seem to allow the state to tax our residences. However the proposals actually limit the value that can be placed on a residence for tax purposes to the value the structure has as a residence, and not allow it to be appraised at a higher value that it might have if it were made into commercial property at the same location. I found page numbered 12 (actually 17th page of document) of the in-depth analysis to be helpful on this proposal.

Text of the proposals:
www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/2009novballotlang.shtml

Statements explaining intended effect, also has the text of the proposal:
www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/2009novballotexp.shtml

In-depth analysis:
www.tlc.state.tx.us/pubsconamend/analyses09/analyses09.pdf

Early voting is oct.19 -30. Information:
